Byron Bay and its immediate waters are an important habitat for over 300 dolphins. These are called resident dolphins and will live in this area their entire lives. The species most commonly seen on our tours include inshore and offshore bottle nose dolphins, along with some Indo Pacific humpback dolphins and common dolphins.We see dolphins on 90% of our tours and if you don’t see them you can come again another time for free!Kayak with the whalesMay to November is the season to get up close and personal with whales as they migrate past the most easterly point of the Australian mainland Byron Bay. During the southern migration Humpback whales bring their calves into the calm waters surrounding Cape Byron to rest and feed. The calves are very inquisitive and playful, they often approach our sea kayak tours with the mother at their side passing just meters from our kayaks.
